Ballet Company Auditions
Dancers Age 9 and up who are NEW to RDT must be age 9 by audition weekend and complete online registration by Thur April 30 by 10am.
Sat May 2 9-10:30am Current Level 1 – 4 dancers + NEW dancers age 9-12
Note: Dancers may be asked to stay for an additional audition with the second group.
Sat May 2 11-12:30pm Current Level 5 – 14 dancers + NEW dancers age 13+
Ballet Audition Dress Code: black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes or pointe shoes
Dancers who are already on pointe will be asked to do pointe work in their audition class.
The Ballet Company is designed for dancers who are serious about their commitment to dance training. Ballet company members invest a significant amount of time and effort in classes, rehearsals, and performances. Expectations for dance company members are high, and in return each dancer receives support for their training plan. RDT’s ballet audition determines acceptance into the company as well as placement in the appropriate level (1 through 14).
The PreProfessional Company is an additional Roswell Dance Theatre company. Dancers who have completed at least one year in the Ballet Company are eligible to be considered for PrePro. Students are observed and evaluated throughout the year. Acceptance into PrePro is by invitation and PrePro results are posted along with Company results.

Movement Collective Audition
Dancers Age 10 and up who are NEW to RDT must be age 10 by audition weekend and complete online registration by Thur April 30 by 10am.
Sat May 2 1-2:30pm Current MoCo Ensemble dancers – Elite + NEW dancers age 13+
Sat May 2 2:30-3:30pm Current MoCo Premiere dancers + NEW dancers age 10-12
MoCo Audition Dress Code: black leotard, black or pink footless tights
The Movement Collective aims to provide versatility training for all dancers, especially those who are interested in aspects of the commercial dance industry such as Broadway, tv/film, cruise ships, Disney and beyond. MoCo dancers work with current industry professionals in master classes and guest choreographic works. RDT’s MoCo audition determines acceptance into the company as well as placement in the appropriate level (Premiere, Ensemble, Swing, Principal, and Elite).

Ballet Company – $30
Movement Collective – $30
Both companies – $50
NEW dancers – we encourage you to audition for both Ballet Company and Movement Collective. Dancers may be offered a position in one or both companies. If the dancer is offered a position in both companies it is completely up to the family to accept one or both positions. There is no pressure to join both if it is not the right fit and will not impact any future placement.

Arrival Time
Please arrive 30 minutes in advance of audition time but no earlier.
Headshots
Dancers new to Roswell Dance Theatre should provide a headshot at the check-in table on the day of the audition, prepared as follows:
- Either an 8×10 photo OR, if the photo is smaller, please adhere it to an 8.5×11 piece of paper
- Include dancer’s first and last name on the front
AUDITION RESULTS
Results of company auditions will be made available online to dancers on May 29, 2026.
June 15, 2026 Company Contracts and Membership Fees due
June 16 – July 1 Company Contracts and Membership Fees still accepted – late fee of $100 will be assessed after June 15
If the Company Contracts and Membership Fees are not received by July 1, 2026, the offer to participate in any company may be revoked.
NOTE: A faculty recommendation to audition does not guarantee a spot in the Company.
