Call Time! At Roswell Dance Theatre, we exist to train and educate our members, as well as stage professional productions for our audiences. The community has supported us for 30 years and enthusiastically embraces The Nutcracker experience each holiday season, along with our other professional productions and dozens of community outreach events throughout the year. For each event, we value the time and contributions of our parent volunteers before, during and after the curtains close.
Filled with rich holiday pageantry, The Nutcracker is the tale of Clara’s dream coming to life. The Nutcracker Prince, Mouse King, Snow Queen, Sugarplum Fairy, and other enchanting characters come alive through dance.

Modern Company Spring Concert
The artistry of modern and contemporary dance is showcased in this very special event. Resident and guest instructors create challenging pieces for the company to passionately perform.
While Roswell Dance Theatre offers its members many performance opportunities, there are also lots of chances to get on stage throughout the region. RDT supports and encourages dancers to participate in regional festivals and performances with the Ballet and/or Modern Company.
Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the world’s largest global network of dance. YAGP strives to support and develop world-class dancers, ages 9-19, of all economic, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds by providing scholarship auditions, performance and education opportunities, and by serving as the global network of dance, connecting students, teachers, schools, dance companies, dancers, and audiences.
YAGP fulfills its mission of dance education through its reach to over 10,000 dance students annually. YAGP holds workshops, scholarship auditions, master classes and audition classes in 25 U.S cities and 8 international locations.
Balletfest is a highlight of the spring season for dancers from around the region. Companies present work in a variety of styles in multiple performances throughout the festival weekend. Classes and workshops, presented by top professionals, enhance the experience and offer time for dancers to meet their peers on the dance floor. The RDT Modern Company prepares 2-3 pieces to perform at the festival and enjoys the opportunity to join other dancers and reach the broader community through the compelling language of modern dance. In 2018, Balletfest proudly announced that the festival would move to the Studio Theatre at the stunning new City Springs Performing Arts Center.
Every spring, Southeast Regional Ballet Association (SERBA) member companies gather for an annual festival. Over 700 dancers, directors, choreographers and master instructors spend four days sharing all aspects of the art of dance in classes, workshops and free time for networking. Dancers are also considered for summer intensive and training program scholarships.
The SERBA festival also serves as a public showcase for the best work done by member companies each year. Impartial adjudicators visit member companies and view pieces to be considered, then choose those of the highest merit, maintaining SERBA’s high standards for dance performance.
RDT performs every year at several local events and festivals, including the Roswell Arts Festival and City Springs Day in the fall and the City of Roswell Memorial Day Ceremonies in May. These performances are free of charge and open to the public.
Each year culminates with an Open School recital for all enrolled students at the Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance. Presented each May at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, the recital gives all dancers stage experience as they display the progress made during the year for family and friends. Recital weekend includes 8 or more shows with class performances, senior solos and select SERBA and festival pieces from the season.
Recital fees are billed each year in November to cover the cost of costumes, theater rental and rehearsal time. Dancers receive their costumes in March in time for photos, alterations, and the chance to wear the costumes to class for practice. Hair and makeup instructions are provided to parents during this time.
RECITAL TICKETS go on sale MONDAY, APRIL 15TH @ 9am. All tickets are $12 for reserved seats and MUST be purchased at www.RoswellBallet.com. Tickets for recitals do sell out.
