23 Sep 2025 Hugs From Young Choreographers
Roswell Dance Theatre kicked off the new dance and performance season with the annual Hugs From Young Choreographers showcase and fundraiser on September 6-7. Top-level dancers from the Roswell Dance Theatre presented original choreographic works for this very special event and welcomed audiences for the wonderful dancing combined with a a fun event with other RDT dance families at the reception. Three performances benefit a charity selected by the choreographers. This year, the dancers used their time and athletic abilities to raise money for Blessings In A Backpack, a nonprofit organization that mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for school-aged children across America who might otherwise go hungry.
Hugs From Young Choreographers is an annual charity event held in the Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance Performance Studio. Each Choreographer selects music, cast, and costumes to create an original masterpiece. HUGS allows our young people to showcase their talents to the public and show the community how effective young people can be when they join together to make an impact. We do not sell tickets to our HUGS shows – instead we kindly request that each audience member make a donation as they enter the show. To further support the fundraising efforts, the choreographers’ parents organize an online silent auction.
THANK YOU to all who joined us for HUGS weekend and supported this amazing event!
