2026 Hugs From Young Choreographers

2026 Hugs From Young Choreographers

NEW THIS SEASON, Roswell Dance Theatre will present its annual Hugs From Young Choreographers showcase and fundraiser on August 21 and 22, before the beginning of the new dance and performance season. Top-level dancers from the Roswell Dance Theatre will present original choreographic works for this very special event, welcoming audiences for exciting dance performances combined with a fun online auction and chance to reconnect with other RDT dance families. Three performances will benefit the charity selected by the choreographers, Gigi’s Playhouse Atlanta, a nonprofit organization committed to changing lives and providing hope through the consistent delivery of FREE educational, therapeutic, and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community, using a replicable playhouse model.

Hugs From Young Choreographers is an annual charity event held in the Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance Performance Studio. Each Choreographer selects music, cast, and costumes to create an original masterpiece. HUGS allows our young people to showcase their talents to the public and show the community how effective young people can be when they join together to make an impact. We do not sell tickets to our HUGS shows – instead we kindly request that each audience member make a donation as they enter the show. To further support the fundraising efforts, the choreographers’ parents organize an online silent auction filled with exciting items for the whole family. Our choreographers also hand paint pointe shoes that are available for purchase in the lobby at all the shows.

We hope to see everyone on HUGS weekend!
