01 Sep 2023 Hugs From Young Choreographers
As we open the studio for the new season of classes, we are so excited for the annual Hugs From Young Choreographers showcase and fundraiser. Top-level dancers from the Roswell Dance Theatre have been working all summer creating original works for this very special event, which will be held on Sept. 9 at 7pm and Sept. 10 at 1pm and 4pm. we look forward to welcoming audiences at all shows to enjoy amazing dances, a chance to reconnect with other RDT dance families, and a good time at the reception.
Hugs From Young Choreographers is an annual charity event held in the Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance Performance Studio. Each Choreographer selects music, cast, and costumes to create an original masterpiece. HUGS allows our young people to showcase their talents to the public and show the community how effective young people can be when they join together to make an impact. We do not sell tickets to our HUGS shows – instead we kindly request that each audience member make a donation as they enter the show. (Suggested $10 per adult, $5 per child…any amount is truly appreciated.)
Three performances benefit a charity selected by the choreographers. This year, the dancers will use their time and athletic abilities to raise money for The Kyle Pease Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes success for young persons with disabilities by providing assistance to meet their individual needs through sports and competition.
