Established in 2002, the PreProfessional Company is for young dancers who are dedicated to becoming tomorrow’s professionals. Dancers must be invited by Director Tracey Bayly to be a member in one of the eight divisions of the PreProfessional Company.
A rigorous schedule of training and rehearsals prepares dancers for performances throughout the year. PrePro dancers perform the most challenging roles in The Nutcracker and Spring Concert productions.
Director, Ballet Mistress: Tracey Bayly
Ballet Master: Robert Gosnell
The PrePro Company stages an annual Spring performance, which in the past has included the classical ballets Swan Lake, Cinderella, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, and Paquita; and original choreographies of modern tales such as Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, Anastasia, Frozen, and more.
In addition to the required Ballet Company classes each week, PrePro dancers take a minimum of two additional hours of technique class, plus a minimum of two additional hours in Saturday rehearsals. A dancer’s rehearsal time can increase to six or more hours each week depending on company level and performance roles.
