Straight from the Heart of the Modern Company…

This wonderful showcase highlights the artistry and excellence of MoCo, RDT’s Modern Company, giving audiences an opportunity to watch the incredible talent and emotional storytelling performed by RDT members and guests. This is a fun event at the Main Studio for the community, TYSOD families, and friends.

Straight From the Heart is held to promote the unique work of the Modern Company and educate the community about what we do and how you can be a part of this outstanding group of dancers. Funds raised at the performance through donations and raffle items directly support the Modern Company training, costuming and events.

It is a great way to spend part of your Sunday, with outstanding dance performances, a reception, fun raffle and chance to get up and learn a few Modern moves. Learn more about MoCo and enjoy a great show at the same time!

The Choreographers

In addition to choreography from the incredible MoCo faculty including Tracy Vogt Wardlaw, Brandon Ellis and Michele Carter, the performance includes choreography from advanced students and guest artists. Previous guest artists have included:

  • Ricky Davis, an Atlanta-based dancer with the Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company
  • Lara Davis, an instructor with the Academy of Ballet in Peachtree Corners, member of the Georgia Ballet, and choreographer of the award-winning film, Capriole
  • Jessie Kaplan, instructor at En Pointe Studios in Atlanta and dancer with Royal Caribbean Cruises
  • Cameron Birts, a dancer with Whim W’Him Seattle Contemporary Dance and graduate of University of the Arts Philadelphia

During Intermission

Enjoy a fabulous reception and raffle. Amazing gift baskets are on display with enticing themes such as: Georgia Peach, GA Bulldog, Pampered Pooch, All That Glitters, Wine Connoisseur and more!

Also during intermission, Modern Company dancers invite audience members, young or young at heart to learn some choreography and take the stage! The joy of movement is contagious!

In Lieu of Tickets…

The intimacy of this event in our main studio “black box” makes it special for everyone who attends. You can see the dancers’ faces, hear them breathing, feel what they are feeling… Instead of selling tickets, we request that our audience members share with us, as we share with them, and make a minimum $10 donation to the RDT Modern Company at the door.

I want to support the Roswell Dance Theatre’s Modern Company!
