05 May Giving Tuesday
A Letter of Thanks to our Roswell Dance Theatre Community,
Now, more than ever, we are reminded that we thrive because of the strength and generosity of our community – our friends, family, students, collaborators and fellow artists. We are overwhelmed with gratitude by your donations during these unprecedented times and throughout our 2019-2020 season. We cannot adequately express our appreciation for your support. We could not do this without you. We are recognizing the global #GivingTuesdayNow movement by giving thanks to you.
The Roswell Dance Theatre exists to develop young dancers into the artists of tomorrow. Its purpose is to identify and train talented and motivated young men and women, to nurture their creative talents and to guide them in developing a strong dance technique. But the arts do much more than just teach a skill. They are intrinsic to our humanity, helping build communication, reflection, discipline, teamwork and other important qualities that last a lifetime. Although these are difficult times, a network of collective kindness, generosity and encouragement has developed organically, showcasing the beauty of the human spirit and its continued presence in the dance community.
While we can’t be together now, we look forward to using this time of reflection as fuel to push us forward into the creation of new productions, meaningful training programs and a safe space for our dance community to connect and heal together. On behalf of the Roswell Dance Theatre board, leadership, faculty, students and staff, I thank you for your support and making our ’19-’20 season one that will never be forgotten. We are eternally grateful.
